Mighty Vamp is a tailored suit of acid jazz, funk and boogalo, made up of Lucas de Mulder (guitar), Andrés Chapapote (Hammond), Juan Upegui (drums) and Nata Estévez (saxophone).
With sleek and edgy guitar riffs, sexy and catchy Hammond and alto sax melodies paired with frenetic and powerful drum beats, Mighty Vamp delivers stylish, cheat-free, cardboard-free quality live performances that even rock dance.
This young group, which has been infected by the funk virus, has learned from the greatest (from Ray Charles to Grat Green) and in their compositions countless influences such as Jimmy McGriff, Jimmy Smith, Boogaloo Joe Jones, The New Mastersounds, Soul Live, Speak Low,… are intuited.
For a few years now, these Madrilians have been one of the essential names in any festival that fits black music. Two albums and a multitude of live shows have led them to earn space in the specialized media, such as being the cover of the bible of black music in Spain: Enlace Funk.
Their style and format make Mighty Vamp a succulent project for venues and original for the audience, with a good dose of rhythms and styles ranging from vintage funk to the latest groove/funk.
